I am very angry about how I was misdiagnosed at Effingham Opthomology. I was diagnosed with glaucoma but some things didn't add up so after 3 months I went somewhere else for a second opinion. I'm glad I did. I have a tumor that is causing me to lose my eye sight. I'm having surgery in 2 weeks and may lose even more vision because of the tumors location.
Dr Kay was very rude and degrading to my father. Talked to him and treated him as if he was a toddler, tried to tell my father that he changed his own eye prescription, when my father told him he did not Dr Kay then responded with “you’re rude and I don’t appreciate you”. Do yourself a favor and take your elderly parent to a doctor that will treat them with the respect any human deserves.
I had to cataract surgery on both of my eyes, Dr. Spraul, and the staff at Effingham Ophthalmology Associates (techs, and the office staff) are incredible. Very friendly, professional, personable with a great since of humor. My surgery went well, I am so thankful for Dr. Spraul and the entire staff and St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital which I received exceptional care.
Kindest people. My little girl and I had the best experience, not only through our exam, but right down to billing. I’d send anyone I liked, or cared about here. They all go above, and beyond, and way out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of.
