I truly appreciate the care I received at the Effingham emergency room for an eye issue. Every person I encountered—from check-in and registration to the nurses and doctors—was prompt, friendly, and professional. They really put me at ease during a stressful time, and I am so grateful for the wonderful team there.

Husband had cataract surgery. I (wife) was never called to post op area to go over discharge instructions. They called me while I was in the waiting area and told me to get my car and drive around he was ready to go. Discharge "instructions" were given to me in the parking lot; nurse said " the instructions are in his bag".....first time I've ever been given discharge instructions in a parking lot - they need to do better!!

In 1999, I spent two weeks at Springfield Hospital after an 8-hour colon surgery, and the care I received was outstanding. Every nurse was kind, attentive, and truly went above and beyond. After 10 days without food or water, I was finally able to eat. I had hoped for tomato soup, but it wasn’t available. One incredibly sweet nurse checked the kitchen (even though it was closed) and then used her own money to get me a sandwich from the vending machine.
