Dr Young is incredible! He is very direct which is appreciated in a person who has your life in their hands knowing he will do what's needed to give me the best possible outcome. I have absolute faith in Dr Young!
Kept telling me to just “power through” as a college athlete with chronic leg pain for 6+ months when there are indications of a further complication on MRI. Simply wanted his check and to be done with us. Seemed very cranky and answered our questions with a lot of sass and attitude. Just didn’t seem like he cared about getting me feeling better. Had much better experiences with Dr. Hastings at JOI, avoid being treated by Dr. Young if you can.
He did not care about me or my injury and said I was too old for surgery. I'm only 50. He inflicted pain during my visit and didn't stop when I said it hurt.

I had a hip replacement 4 ½ years ago. After vegetating all winter and doing no exercises, I got out of bed one morning with sharp pains near my replaced hip. After seeing Dr. Young, he assured me that physical therapy would help with what he diagnosed as piriformis syndrome, also determining from an MRI that deterioration in my lumbar spine area was contributing to this problem. I have been treated by Dr. Young for over 12 years. He is very kind, compassionate and caring. Had knee replacement surgery. Had wonderful results. Dr. Young and his staff are wonderful. I highly recommend him.
For over a decade, Dr. Young has taken care of my orthopedic problems; broken bones, osteoarthritis and knee joint replacement. His competence, ability and reassuring doctor-patient interaction are all stellar.
Dr. Young is very rushed and doesn't give adequate time to his patients. I went through two rounds of injections to relieve my knee pain in addition to six months of physical therapy. I only have deteriorated. Unfortunately, I have never been told why, or what I can do to more permanently relieve this pain and limp. When I tried to see another doctor in the practice for another opinion, I was reprimanded by the other doctor for leaving Dr Young. How unprofessional of this practice.
