Sitting in the ER with my husband who had surgery yesterday and is bleeding, was told to sit and wait it’s a busy day. Unacceptable for someone who is a heart patient and 24 hours out of surgery to sit and wait.
I’ve had to deal with almost all top hospitals except northwestern because my insurance was never that fancy, but at this hospital we had the best care we’ve experienced in all years we’ve lived here. From answering service, to drs to imaging, nurses, the highest level of compassion and care. Dr Wanderling exceeded our expectations throughout the whole process, from 1st visit, to day of my husband’s surgery and post op. Recent discharge, my nurse states the day of discharge that what I ordered for lunch was not suitable for my diet, after I have attempted to eat it and I was preparing to leave. When a patient place a order room service normally state that you can't have something. It appears that the entire time inpatient no one remembered that I was on a soft diet due to sleeve surgery. The billing system at Endeavor/Edward Health is completely unacceptable. After undergoing one procedure, I was bombarded with multiple separate bills from different groups—Duly, Elmhurst, Edward, and DuPage. When I called, they told me hospital charges and physician fees are billed separately. Sending fragmented bills from different organizations for a single visit is confusing, frustrating, and exhausting for patients trying to manage their medical expenses. I’ve never had such a warm, wonderful experience at any other hospital system. The admin, the valet team, the nurses, the PAs, the anesthesiologist, and the surgeon were ALL phenomenal. Please do yourself a favor and get care there. What a gift to have such a lovely team and facility. Absolutely flawless.
