I want to lodge a formal complaint against McKay’s books of Greensboro, NC. On October 8, 2018, I visited the location on Battleground Avenue. I had brought with me some items to sell for either cash or store credit. Disappointed Used to be a great used bookstore. Since they moved into their new location right on Battleground, they seem like they've become "commercialized". It's not the small, quaint little bookstore it used to be. Now, it's like any other business that is growing too fast, it's now all about the $$$. CD prices have gone through the roof. Why pay retail for a used CD/DVD when you can get a brand new one in the box for the same price.
LOVE it! Eddie McKay's is the BEST! I love going in and browsing and just gettin lost amongst the stacks. they have a great "free" section and a fabulous kids section too.
This is the best place to get your text books if you dont want to order online. They dont always have every text book but they do have a good selection. They also have a good selection of novels to choose from and music and dvds. It is Greensboro's best kept secret.
Used to be good.......... Ed McKay's used to be great on their prices and selection back in the day. I've been a customer since the beginning. Now, when you go in there it's like visiting all the high priced seller's on Ebay. They give you nothing for your items, look them up on ebay and sell them for the highest price that it sold for. I've lost a lot for them and very rarely go there for anything anymore. Not to metion, you can't call and get any information for the slack workers that work there. used books I LOVED WHEN I WENT INTO THE STORE I REALLY FELT COMFORTABLE AND WANTED. ITS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE OLD BOOKS, PLUS YOU CAN EXCHANGE YOUR BOOKS FOR SOMETHING ELSE THAT YOU WANT.
Book Lovers' Paradise Every time I enter McKay's, I feel at home. The staff greets everyone with a warm "HELLO!" The book selection is wonderful. The prices are superb! My favorite section is the children's area. Other used book stores usually have a poor selection children's books. Not so at McKay's. The selection of children's books is wonderful! Buy, Sell or Trade Edward McKay's is a great place for used books in Greensboro. They have a fabulous selection that is always rotating. They also have one of the best selections of used CD's that I've ever seen.
