Dr. Chesnutis treated and performed surgery on a mid-shaft fracture of my 5th metatarsal in September 2025. His staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and Dr. Chesnutis took time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. He went above and beyond in the initial visit to get me scheduled for surgery on short notice, saving me several days in the pre-surgery timeline. Dr. Chesnutis was dismissive of my year long experience dealing with pain in my peroneal tendon saying that he didn't see anything wrong with my foot or ankle. Over multiple appointments he just kept telling me I needed to rest my foot and avoid activities that hurt it. After giving up all physical activity (no short walks, no working out, multiple bouts in a walking boot, icing and elevating, etc) for 18 months, it continued to get worse. Very nice gentleman. However, after months of foot pains, Dr Chesnutis continued to tell me I just needed to rest my foot. I decided to see a different podiatrist who immediately diagnoses psoriatic arthritis and I was able to get the appropriate treatment. Dr Chesnutis missed all the signs which caused damage to my bones to continue.
Dr. Chestnutis performed an ankle fusion to address severe arthritis. One year later and I am doing better than ever. The surgery was perfect. Recovery was well managed. He is a most gracious, and knowledgeable professional. Thank you!
