Not only an amazing surgeon but an amazing man. He performed a very unorthodox emergency surgery that saved my life and with his experience as a feild surgeon over seas, might have been the only surgeon that could have successfully completed it. He has continued to stay in touch and gives the impression that he is truly invested in my well being. Hes a hell of a guy that i feel blessed to have been the beneficiary of his extraordinary talents, ill forever be indebted.
Dr. Detar explained everything about my situation, all about the procedures that we would be doing and about complications that could happen. After the first procedure and it was found that we could not go further that day. He spoke to me and explained what he found and then went out and explained everything to my husband. I never felt like he was in a rush or skipping over our concerns. I honestly feel like Dr. Detar cares about his patients and spends time to make sure we are as comfortable.
Dr. deTar is awesome. If you have to have surgery this is the Doc. you want.
Lucked out when I drew Dr. Detar in the ER. He caught life threatening issues the others had missed and rushed me into surgery. Could not be more pleased with the results.
I Called in with strong pain after a tonsil surgery after office hours and this doctor told me I would have to go to the emergency room and get checked in rather than doing a re-fill on my pain medication. Those of you with large health insurance deductibleS know this can be thousands of dollars which I mentioned to him and he didn'the seem to care about. If you have executive health insurance maybe he is for you, otherwise plan to suffer if you have a problem on a weekend.
