Because ECU Health Medical Center has removed the ability to leave ratings on their page. Here is my rating. You would get a negative 100 from me. If it were possible. Friday, I went into the hospital with dizziness and cramping. I was pregnant. It was discovered that I had a complication that would need emergency surgery if gotten worse. It did. Get worse... My husband has been admitted to this hospital pretty much yearly for the past 4 years or so. I have to say that for the most part, they have some great Doctors and Nurses. We have had occasional issues, such as : rude & prejudice nurse administering too much insulin ( darn near killed my husband ) got his sugar up in normal range & then tried to give him more insulin. This so called medical facility is truly one of a kind. I have been here 7 hrs in the lobby waiting for the gentleman I brought in to be seen. I used to high a very good opinion of this hospital unfortunately with each encounter I find it harder to actually find anything good to say about this facility. The resident meth head that wandered about the lobby, the fella that may have missed some of his psychotropic medications wandering around.....truly made me feel that I was in a safe environment. My dad was diagnosed with COVID-19 on a Monday. On Wednesday we took him to Vidant because he was short of breath and his primary care doctor said that his sats were low so he sent him to the ER. Once there, my dad was told he had great sats and had a chest X-ray and blood work done. He was only there for about 5-6 hours. Since no one could stay with him, I was calling every so often for updates.
