Doesn't honor award stays booked with points. Avoid.
I used my credit card to hold the room but paid with cash. The next day an unauthorized amount of $145 was deducted from my account by this hotel. I confronted the front desk clerk and he blamed Choice Hotels. "But it says that the amount was taken from Econo Lodge," I told him. Choice Hotels only take money when you're dealing with them directly. I simply told him that I wanted my money returned before the end of the day or I was going to report theft to the police. We started visiting Asheville when my daughter moved there in about 2022. We knew that it was going to be a "no frills" type of property. But now in 2026, it has gotten so bad. Trash in the parking lot including needles and diapers. I posted some pictures. This is a Choice Hotels property (or franchise I guess). Choice Hotels name is attached to this property and I hope they see this.
Do NOT STAY HERE EVER they barge in your room without knocking no respect or privacy management rude, unprofessional and the lady mgr is a strait bully
