I am extremely disappointed with my experience with ECMC's Emergency Dental Clinic. I called at 7:59 a.m., as instructed, to schedule an emergency appointment. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes, only for someone to finally answer and tell me that there were no more available appointments. How is a patient supposed to receive emergency dental care when they're told to call at 8:00 a.m., but spend over half an hour on hold while all of the appointments are filled? With the closing of the oral surgery department, it’s expected for people to have questions about services availability. Just an FYI, don’t call the dental department expecting professionalism from the ones answering the phone. They act bothered when you have simple straightforward questions and are in a hurry. Don’t be surprised if they hang up on you mid sentence! Unfortunately healthcare in WNY is getting worse and some people cannot make the trip to Rochester.
