I walked in, parked right next to the entrance, with the weight of the world on my shoulders. Crying, feeling totally hopeless. Left, within an hour, feeling validated, supported, and empowered to do the best for me. Having direction, hope, and resources. Just woke up from a sound sleep. Compassionate caring humanness is alive and well at the Help Center with every staff person I came in contact with and who said “Hi” to me. Who knew?
Completely useless, don’t come here if you don’t want to waste your time
Wasted about 2 years there. Counselor I had didn’t seem to help. Made me feel worse than what I was feeling and dealing with. Didn’t bother with a lot of things. Felt like she didn’t give two flying monkeys about what I was dealing with. I was happy when I left and got into the place I’m going to now. I’m getting much better counseling and treatment. ECMC mental health counseling sucks highly stay the hell away from this place at all costs!!!! If you value yourself and your mental state avoid this place
The large room where they cram 50 mentally ill people together with absolutely no privacy at all is absurd. It is a clear code violation. I have never encountered that and im 60 years old. No privacy means patients freak out on each other and fight on a daily basis. They need to reconstruct the large space with privacy partitions where patients have 2 or 3 roommates with cameras in each partition. It actually wouldn't cost that much.
