I am highly disappointed in the recent events in which Eastman credit union took my ignorance to check clarifying. Resently my uncle had passed away and I THOUGHT I WAS SENT INHERITANCE MONEY FROM HIM but come to find out someone was scamming me I took this check out and asked my supposedly really great bank to research this check and was assured nothing bad would happen well that was a lie!!! Our records indicate this member has deposited two counterfeit checks into her account over a two year period. After the first occurrence, she was counseled about how to protect herself against online scams and was advised if this type of activity continues, Eastman Credit Union will be unable to offer account services to her going forward. My mother passed away and she had a loan thru the bank so I new they would not discuss any of her accounts unless there was an estate. Which I was fine with that. There was no estate because she didn't have anything of value. Now she lived a very good life with social security and widows pension but I told her to not worry about leaving us anything enjoy life. I will never try to do business with this bank again. Tried getting a loan with this bank and at first they approved me. I should have known it wasn't going to be easy with them since I did most of their work for them. I have several loans with different banks but never have I had to call and get payoff amount and address to mail pay off to for any other bank except this one. Eastman Credit Union issued a prequalification letter to the member, which was contingent on verification of the information submitted on the loan application. Unfortunately, the income listed on the loan application was not supported by the tax returns that were provided to us the following business day.
