I have lived at Eastgate for almost 6 years and it’s a lovely, quiet, affordable place to live especially if you need to be commuting to the Princeton area. The rent increases yearly have been low and the one bedrooms are spacious with great storage space (and some have in unit laundry).The sound insulation is incredible we almost never hear our neighbors and I work from home full time. I am so stressed and unhappy living here. I’m paying over $1600 a month to constantly deal with plumbing problems and people who slack on helping when problems arise. I’ve had sewage backed up into my apartment multiple times, the smell of sewage coming through the vents from an open pipe, now I have a drain fly infestation that is not being addressed after 2 phone calls and an email. Jose, the property manager, is rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional, and this has been true every single time I have interacted with him. For example, when I had a lockout, his response was to threaten changing my locks rather than simply help me. In two years of living here, I had only been locked out once before. That is how he treats long-term tenants. Reaching maintenance on weekends is a real challenge since they operate on call, and Jose is the one who handles those calls, if he does actually pick up. Extremely dirty apartments. My friend lives here and when I visited it was very off putting. I saw a mouse scurry into on of the apartments. Do not rent here. Run away, don’t walk.
