She spoke with Brian, who decided to come out and have a look at the unit the same day. What a legend. After the diagnosis, they've gotten the warranty parts ordered, and we are awaiting repairs. Reasonably priced, very helpful, and a pleasure to communicate with. Thank you kindly for your assistance.
