East serves the best sushi of any restaurant in the area. They recently updated their menus and added more selections (at least it looks like there's more there), plus there's now pictures showing what many of the items are. Service can be slow when they're busy (and the place does pack at night), but we tend to go early in the evening before the main crowd arrives and have always received timely service. East is an asian fusion restaurant. I've had a number of the different items on the menu and they've all been good. The sushi rolls are usually well prepared. When the sweet potato roll is done properly its wonderful; but on several occasions the sweet potato was undercooked-raw in the center. The service used to be attentive; but my last few visits have left me inspired to complain. Near Heaven My favorite Asian fusion in the area. The menu is long and interesting, the food consistently very well prepared. Try the "Sushi Pizza or the "Crab Cakes with 4 Sauces." Nice surroundings and efficient service, although they may bring the dishes a little too fast if you don't counsel them otherwise.

Great Sushi! East is a really good sushi place in Berkeley Heights, NJ. It's easy to get to and they have great 1/2 price sushi specials Mon-Wed for dinner and the rest of the week for lunch. I definitely recommend it. The service is good and fast - definitely worth checking out!
