The paid staff is the only reason this department is running. When you want to thank someone for their service thank the paid staff. They are the ones who respond to your emergency at any time of the day or night with professionalism and great patient care. As far as the volunteers go... extremely poor leadership. The chief of the department has no skills or qualifications and is running the department into the ground by firing valuable paid employees. He is a bully. The ambulance was called when I got into a motor vehicle accident up on CR51, the paid first responder Paramedic arrived on the scene first, who I know well and friends with. He was concerned that I was involved in yet a second accident within a year, but he was relieved when he found out that everyone involved (who were also members of the ambulance) were okay. I call the ambulance for prehospital healthcare, not to see a rodeo. The chief shows up in a cowboy hat and talks to the paid professionals (who I give very much credit and respect to) like absolute, disgusting garbage. It’s very uncomfortable to see the chief act in such a manor to people who volunteer their time to come out and help, as well as PAID PROFESSIONALS who manage 90% of their alarms.
