Great local motel – We selected this pet-friendly place for our first visit to Friday Harbor and were not disappointed. The staff was knowledgable and courteous and we absolutely loved the (free!) old-fashioned bicycles the motel offers to guests. Such a relaxing vacation! Our room was clean and cheerful and we slept like logs in the comfy bed. We prefer supporting a local business, such as Earthbox, as opposed to the run of the mill chains, and will definitely come back.
Charming, unique Friday Harbor motel – My husband and I had a lovely stay at Earthbox! It's a remodeled retro motel with style, not a 'just like all the others' place. The bed was heavenly with quality linens, the shower with the oversized head was wonderful, and the pool and jacuzzi really helped after walking around all day. Great location, right in town and easy walk to most everything. Helpful, cheerful staff. Also loved a little Mediterranean restaurant in town overlooking the harbor on second floor - terrific food.
Earthbox... More like Sh*tbox!! – Motel 6 is a classy upgrade to this place. My stay would have been more enjoyable sleeping outside in a tent, sipping some premium Carlo Rossi. The pictures on the website selling rooms are very crafty and deceiving. What you see on the website is almost luxury, spa like living. I was excited to come! Absolutely Horrendous – I am not a picky person, let me just make that clear first. I have never been compelled to actually write a complaint about anything before in my life. My boyfriend wanted to give me a sweet surprise by planning a nice weekend getaway to the San Juan Islands. He went so far as to reserve "one of the nicest rooms", the "romance package...(such a joke)", and booking side by side swedish massages. Let's get things straight : IT IS A MOTEL !!!!!!! – We got here yesterday - and we have the rezervation until April 6th. Unfortunately, we have to pay for the whole time even if we don't survive until April 6th.
