I recently changed my PCP to Dr. Eapen through my insurance, who stated she was taking new patients. When I called the office to schedule an appointment the receptionist- civil at first, when under the impression I was a recurring paitent- then outright nastily told me I "couldn't have made that change. The doctor isn't taking new patients and is booked out for over a year." I understand that, no problem... I recently tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Prema Eapen, who is listed as an in-network provider. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff was very disappointing. When I called, the receptionist informed me that the doctor was fully booked, and before I could ask any follow-up questions or request information about future availability, she abruptly hung up. I’ve been seeing Dr. Eapen for years. I am totally disgusted of what happened today. I’m in excruciating pain and the earliest appointment I could get was 4:45 PM. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic called the office several times to let them know, no one picked up the phone. I arrived nine minutes late 454 to be exact. They have a seven minute policy that if you don’t arrive within seven minutes then you’re considered a no-show patient. I was not aware of this policy.
