Recently purchased a home that had 100 days coverage on a pest/termite policy that was an annual payment for inspection and pesticide application. Was told by the title company that the current insurer/pest control company charges a $50 fee to ONLY CHANGE THE NAME ON THE POLICY IN THEIR COMPUTER. I've contacted the Arkansas dept. of insurance and they are investigating. First of all no one would say take a leap. We don't fall under the Insurance dept. we fall under the State Plant Board. Normally the buyer's lender require a clearance letter, and some times not, and if they do not require a clearance letter then to change a name we have to change all our records and to report to the State plant board records. so its not as you are saying.
