Dissapointed! I lived in DR for a couple of years, and I know DR Salons are well known for their attention and great work, but THIS IS NOT THE CASE! I just did my hair (cut and blowdry), and I DO NOT like the result at all! I have fine soft curled hair, a very easy hair to style...BUT the haircut came out UNEVEN!!! Trim that turned out to be a Horrible Cut! I went into the salon on a thursday evening around 4 pm. I asked if the stylist can put a relaxer in my 13 year old daughters hair. The stylist agreed. I left my daughter at the salon because the service would take 4 hrs long. When I came back at 7pm my daughter was under the dryer.The stylist brought my daughter to the chair to remove the rollers. I love this place I am Newyorican and when I came here I could not find someone to do my hair. I moved to Riverview and saw this place and was happy with the way they do your hair. It's true you have to wait but is because it is walk in first come first serve so it takes a while. I have not had any problems with my hairstylist. She does reallly good with your hair and they make sure you are happy with the results...Can't complain at all
RACIST I created an account just to tell black women not to go to this salon. The first dominican salon I went to was in New York. I Ioved it. It was fast and cheap. And my hair looked great. I started going here and they charged me extra to do my hair (and I have a perm). Plus they acted like they didn't want to do my hair when I came in. My friend girl had the same problem. I love Dominican Salon my hair is so long now. But i will never go here again.
HOT AIR DRY?? DISCRIMINATION?? I was reading these reviews and one that got my attention was discrimination..she wrote in her experience that she wanted to "hot air dry" her naps...no c'mon..you know you can't hot air dry...sista you need your rollers set in cause natural or permed you can't hot air dry that hair. Not the Besy Coming out of New York I know good Dominican Salons when I see them. Although they aren't the best I've ever been to. They are the best I've been to in the Brandon Area. They don't use any other methods that I haven't seen used up North. They wash and set my hair and put rollers. To the girl who had something negative to say about them, they're nice women. The Best Hairstylist I've gone to yet! I have been in Florida going on 7 years now and moved into the Brandon area 2 years ago. I was going to a hairstylist in Lakeland because I couldn't trust anyone to do my type of hair the way I am use to having it. Discrimination I am an African American women with natural hair and I asked the owner if she would wash and hot air dry my hair. She immediately told me that we don't do that ... we don't do that type of hair. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but Dominicans descended from AFRICA. Most "black" dominican hair is naturally curly or the derogatory term, "nappy". The "white" dominicans can thank Spanish colonization for their straighter curls.
