Fourteen years later, what is now Albany was established as a trading port called Fort Orange. When the British acquired all Dutch possessions in North America, several patroonships were offered to wealthy Dutch families. It has been really nice living at Dutch Village. Joan is the best. She is extremely nice and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. The apartments I have been in are lovely & the grounds are maintained very well.
Let me tell you my nightmare at Dutch Village. I had movers move me in to dirty apartment in July 2006. The bathroom was disgusting, I had to take day off to have someone come in and scrub the bathroom. The roof leaked so many times that the last time they said they fixed the problem, my brand new $2,000.00 dyning room set was damaged along with $350.00 worth of books.
