We visited Dusit Thai for the first time for lunch yesterday and were impressed. The food is fresh, flavorful and as close to authentic as we have had any place. Once the public learns of this gem in downtown Newport, they will be swamped. We both had hot and sour soup first - excellent flavor and heat. Love the crispy wontons! I had the Pad Thai (mild) which was one of the best I have ever had - just the right amount of heat and the raw shoots and squeeze of lime added just the right amount of flavor and texture. AUTHENTIC Thai Cuisine! Delicious! We were a party of six so tried many dishes. Mixed appetizers A and B a great start. You may need an additional order of Curry Puffs if you're with me! Pad Thai - the American standard of what we think is Thai food - hee hee - was the greatest surprise! Like the lovely owner, it was straight from Bangkok. This is the real thing!
