About 3 years ago I searched and found Duramax Transmission as the best place to have my 2001 Acura CL Type S transmission rebuilt. Tony, the General Manager, and his crew were amazingly professional, always kept me informed as to costs and time needed. Repairs were done promptly and the car delivered to me as promised. But the real plus was that they also provided great car diagnosis and service to me and my wife's 2002 Subaru. Have recommended them to my family, friends and neighbors.

We were quoted $1800 to get our transmission fixed and two weeks to get it done. Almost a month later they finally finished and charged us $2600!!! Not even three years later my transmission starts causing me problems. Called Duramax to see if my car was covered under the warranty and they told us to bring it down. It cost us $92 to tow it there. The next day they called and said they needed proof of yearly transmission flushes in order for the warranty to work. My husband drove the receipts down the next day. Worst "mechanic" i've dealt with, I have to live with an awful clutch even though as soon as they installed it for OVER what they quoted and DOUBLE THE TIME THEY ORIGINALLY SAID.. I went there and addressed my concern about this clutch being so godawful and they played the "there's nothing we'll do about it" Never returning customer here, and I will not recommend you to them. When you're spending a thousand dollars at a place they better take care of you. Next time I'm going out of Salem

Took my car in for a tranny rebuild and the experience was sketchy from the beginning. The quote was 400.00 under their final price. Once returned it was shifting poorly. The owner of the shop did the test drive with me and diagnosed it as being the torque converter. Told it would "take a few days" which stretched into 8. Gave it back to me and the problem still was not fixed. A couple of weeks later I heard odd noises. A different mechanic found that the transaxle had not been tightly bolted to the frame. Took my 2004 Corvette to them after A-1 tried to screw me on the repairs to "rebuilt" transmission they installed in 2013. Nathan tore my tranny apart and they found that A-1 had not delivered what I paid $2146.00 for. Instead of a High Performance transmission there were parts for a standard one, and some parts were in fact missing. Duramax did the proper upgrade and completed the work and good time.
