I had a very frustrating experience at my most recent visit to Duke Women’s Health at the Arringdon office. I drive almost an hour to visit this office. My appointment was scheduled for 3:15 PM, and I was asked to arrive by 3:00. I checked in at 2:50 and paid my copay at 3:00. I was finally called back around 3:30, only to sit in the exam room for almost an hour without anyone checking in on me. When the doctor eventually came in, she apologized and explained that I had been mistakenly marked as “checked out,” making it seem... read more
I want to start by saying the staff here is amazing and very caring. The staff deserve 10 stars. Jennifer Howell is not a menopause specialist who understands and is not a caring doctor. If you plan to make an appointment with her because your other local and online doctors don't understand what you're going through due to extreme menopause symptoms and treat you like you need a psychiatrist, just know, you'll get exactly the same treatment from Howell. crying when frustrated does not mean I need psychiatric medications.
Pay attention to the review score…it’s low for a reason. Customer service and patient care is not good. The provider that I saw today, Jennifer Howell, was dismissive and uninterested in me as a new patient. The information received was contradictory to information previously received from non-Duke physicians. The entire visit she kept repeating “it’s an armchair quarterback situation”. It was odd. When I asked about a blood test to check my hormone levels, she told me it was unnecessary and stated “you still have monthly pe... read more
I had an appointment today with Hannah Morgan that I waited a month and a half for. My appointment was at 10:30am and I thought it was at 10:45am before I left my house to go to the appointment I called. I was told that I have a 20 min grace period and as long as I was in the office and in line by 10:50 I would be seen. I drove 30 mins to this appointment not to mention I work night shift and just got off of work. I stayed up just to make this appointment. I got into the office at 10:47 and at the front desk at 10:47. The gi... read more
All the physicians at Duke are top caliber. However, I'd love to note that Dr. Clayton Alfonso goes above and beyond for all his patients. He is well informed and thoughtful with his treatment plans. He tries to maximize your visits (thus making the need to return or take time off work less). He makes sure that you understand your body and empowers you to make the best decisions for you, your life, and your family. I recommend him to everybody! He is a personification of compassion and never judges or jumps to conclusions. F... read more
