So I called first before going to ask some questions. My question was "if I come in can you guarantee that you will be able help me get some medical treatment?". Her answer "no". We are incredibly grateful to the team at Duke Urgent Care for the outstanding care they provided to our 7-year-old son. We initially visited after he accidentally swallowed a penny, and the staff was quick, kind, and professional in ensuring he was safe. An X-ray confirmed the penny had passed into his intestines without issue. However, what truly stood out was their attentiveness and thoroughness. I really hate coming to this urgent care. It is always the same excuse that they are short staffed or there is a doctor on lunch. I went from being told there was one person in front of me now to it being three people. I really don't see the point in using the appointment option. It's always the same sad song about being short staffed. I hate this is the only option in my area.
My primary care physician is with Duke and I didn’t want to wait to see him so I came here. Front desk staff, nurses, PA, etc. were all great. The PA took her time explaining everything that was wrong with my toe (infected yuk lol), causes, treatments, etc and called in a couple of prescriptions for me. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.
I made a visit for a severe hematoma on my forearm and 6 different cuts from a fight with boxes haha. My hematoma was so severe a second nurse at the front was called over to see it. OK. I was taken to a room and a sweet nurse brought me an ice pack. 45 minutes later a went out and called for someone 3 times. Finally the sweet thing came out and got me 2 ice bags. I asked if there was only 1 Dr today (I was hoping I wouldn't need 2 ice bags.). She said no 3. One just came back from break. OK. 20 minutes a PA comes ... read more
