I had my first visit as a new patient with Dr. Akhter. She is a great doctor and a good listener who explained all treatment options thoroughly. In addition, the nurses were awesome. Thank you all for your great service. The only reason that I gave 4 stars is for the lab technician. When she called my name, she turned her back on me and walked away without recognizing me, which I found somewhat rude.

I made an appointment for a thyroid ultrasound. The woman swore up and down that it was for Duke Heritage in Wake Forest. Unfortunately I believed her. It turns out she made it for Duke Hospital in Durham which I only saw when I checked my MyChart. Of course when I called back they didn’t care that it was she who had made a mistake and it added two months to my wait time because I went straight to the back of the line. I learned my lesson to always check behind the staff here.
