Was informed the cancer facility related to MAST syndrome was closed at least for the next year or two not sure why Duke has not publicized this or if the information I received was incorrect, but I was stunned to be informed that the entire facility was no longer accepting patients and apparently this has not been made public. Please be aware and take note.
I visit this facility as a caregiver helping a client. We come here often and each time I have watched the staff work as a great and supportive team to better serve their patients. I can comfortably read in the waiting area and the staff ensures that the guests are doing well. I'm proud to also say that I am a patient of several Duke facilities. Thank you for all of your professionalism, friendliness, kindness, and hard work!
This facility is never properly staffed. Why make cancer and transplant patients wait HOURS for a NURSE to just check their labs and say stay or go??? If there's a 9 am appt, why aren't patients seen til 11 or 12??? Poor poor management of staff leads to patients crammed together all waiting for hours past appointment times. Ridiculous. Especially if patients are late to Dr appts they get rescheduled, cancelled, etc. Patient time is of EQUAL value, if not more. DUKE DO BETTER!!!
