We had a beautiful clear night for visiting Dubbo Observatory. Friendly staff, very welcoming. A small selection of items and postcards available for purchase as a souvenir. A talk given while scopes were being set up was outside, rather than in their small theatrette. Enjoyable if there are no clouds. We were lucky to have a clear sky at night. The presentation was informative and useful for children. The star gazing was spectacular. Recommends to choose a night when it's a new moon and clear sky for the best experience.

It's fascinating Only two points to consider if you time is flexible: * During or near a New Moon. * On a night with clear, cloud-free
