Getting arrested for drunk driving really complicated my divorce and custody proceedings, so I knew I needed a good defense lawyer I could trust to fight the DUI charge. I was pulled over for speeding down Sepulveda in Sherman Oaks, and was expecting to just get a ticket. But apparently the cop felt I must be drunk because I was being "mouthy". Ridiculous! My car was impounded and I had to get my sister to pick me up at the police station. Of course, my ex had a field day, telling the judge that I was in irresponsible drunk who didn't deserve joint custody. I decided to retain Dan Smith of DS Criminal Law Group since he's one of the most experienced criminal defense attorneys in Los Angeles ...  more>>Award Banner

A great criminal lawyer that fought hard for me
If it weren't for DS Criminal Law Group, I might have gone to prison on an overblown drug charge. I was charged with manufacturing crystal meth, which is pretty serious. This meant that I needed the best defense attorney I could get in L.A., which can be hard to do since I didn't have a lot of money.
A friend recommended Dan Smith of DS Criminal Law Group, who is a former prosecutor. He had defended my friend when he got arrested for assault and battery and resisting arrest, and managed to get the charges dismissed--so I feel pretty good about hiring him. He also worked out a reasonable payment plan with me, which I really appreciate. It's hard

My son got arrested for a drunk driving, which would have been the 2nd one on his record if DS Criminal Law Group hadn't helped him. My son has been having issues, and he is a recovering alcoholic--but this time, he just angered the wrong cop and the wrong time. The charges were overblown, but once there's a DUI on record, it gets harder to prove innocence.
He was pulled over for speeding on the 101, and it's true that he cut people off. But that doesn't make him drunk, just a rude driver. The cop couldn't seem to let go of the prior DUI on his record, and my son got annoyed with the cop and got a little belligerent, which was a bad idea.
My sister recommended Dan Smith, who is a former pros

I got my cleared of domestic assault
When I got charged with domestic battery after an argument with my ex wife, I almost got fired and had to fight to get my visitation rights back. Everyone thought I hit women, which I can tell you almost ruined my life. It was just an argument that got out of hand. She wanted more alimony, I said no, she accused me of spending my hard earned money on booze and my current girlfriend and accused me of being a neglectful father. She claimed that the fact that I missed our son's junior high graduation ceremony meant that I didn't have time for my son, and that my girlfriend was a bad influence so she was going to have my visitation rights and reduced.
