About

One of the city's oldest buildings, the Alamo Bank building, has been converted into this Drury hotel. A premium option in San Antonio, the Drury Plaza Hotel promises a memorable experience with its world-class service and its stylish contemporary interiors. While the hotel is equipped with the best of modern amenities that add comfort to your stay, the old charm of the Alamo Bank building remains untouched. The rooftop swimming pool and two whirlpools are great places to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing or business meetings.

Husband and I took a trip for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond. The room was really clean. We truly enjoyed it! Will definitely stay again.

Do not stay here- instead of having individual shampoo bottles for guests they have dispensers in the shower. However, from looking at them it looks like they've never been cleaned & one dispenser appears to be growing something. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

You might want to wait a few months to visit... – My husband and I took a weekend trip to San Antonio last weekend. We made reservations at Drury Inn Riverwalk, one of our favorite hotels. The previous weekend I made a trip to San Antonio with our kids and stayed in another hotel, I couldn't help but to compare the two and ended up a little disappointed with Drury. The PROS: The building. We love all the details and look of the older building. The location. The hotel is located on the riverwalk far enough away from all the action, but close enough to walk to the main attractions. The "extras". Afternoon snacks, breakfast, high speed Internet. Staff. Great service! Very friendly. The CONS: The location. It isn't the easiest hotel to drive to. Parking Garage. WOW! What a headache. First of all you have to pay 14$ per day to park in this garage. The parking spaces are tiny. The entire garage is small. AND Don't dare come in after midnight and try to park. We couldn't find any open spaces that were big enough for our Tahoe and when we got to the end, there was no where to turn around. Very frustrating to say the least. Construction. Between road work and construction on the building next door things were a mess. As much as I love this hotel I was furious when I was forced to wake up to banging noises at 7am Saturday morning from people working next door. It didn't let up for hours. I couldn't believe that the staff didn't warn us before we booked our rooms, or at least put us on another level/side away from the construction noises. Beds. I have to compare the beds and bedding to the hotel I stayed the the weekend prior to this visit. The king size bed wasn't comfortable at all, unless you love hard beds. The bedding was out dated and stiff. The quilt was the kind that sticks to dry skin. The one thing I didn't mind was the pillows. There were so many and all different. I didn't have trouble finding one that was comfortable. Overall I was disappointed with our visit.

User review by dcoppolo – Very clean, comfortable beds, room a little small but OK. Free breakfast, free drinks and snacks at cocktail hour. Can't beat it.

Standard amenities served up with style. – The Scene The location couldn't be better for guests doing business downtown. It is also ideal for those visiting historic city sights. Unlike many Drury Inns, which are housed in newly constructed buildings, this facility resides in a restored 1920s landmark. The company has done a fine job of retaining the style and grace of the structure's early days. The Details Guests are greeted by an elegant lobby featuring Texas-size chandeliers and dark woods. The hotel also offers numerous modern amenities along with its historic atmosphere. For example, every room features high-speed Internet access. One of the most notable amenities is the extended breakfast. Guests are treated not only to standard continental fare, but also scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and Belgian waffles.
