He wasn't much help to me and 6 yrs later hurt more than when I broke my back. He is distant and uninterested on visits he checked xrays and basically blew me off and discharged me after 3 mos when I was supposed to be healed but wasn't. I never went back to him was no point. He made it plain there was nothing to do but live with it. After that I tried pain management clinics and went thru their 'procedures' that did nothing and then KU Spine that did their procedures that did nothing to help.

Review: I am returning to Dr. Drisko. He was the first surgeon to perform surgery on my spine. I was 25 at the time of the surgery. His Father performed back surgery on my father and I thought very highly of both. Now at 53 it is time to return to a old friend. Edit

Dr. Drisko performed a complete knee replacement on me and the results were excellent. He is all business, and some people may not like that, but when I'm being operated on I want a skilled surgeon not a best friend. Also, his office staff is very helpful, particularly his nurse, when you have any questions.

Dr. Drisko needs to retire. I like him as a person, but not as a physician at this point. He has mishandled my care which has left me in a disabled condition. The office is not a happy place, the staff appear very discontent and on edge. I really wish I could say something nice, but it would be a dishonest statement.

Dr Drisko acted as if he had better things to do than discuss my back issue during my visit. He seemed uninterested to the point where I asked him if he would like me to explain my history of back issues, to which he responded, If you want to. He left the room to answer a phone call while I stood there mid-exam in a gown. He had me walk (bra-less in a gown) out to the nurses area where there were many people to discuss my x-ray/chart. Not enough text room to explain the rest. Horrible visit.
