I have never written a yelp review but I feel obligated to inform future brides/cake buyers of their potential experience if they choose to go with Dream Bakery. I could not have been more disappointed with the lack of professionalism I received after spending $600 on what I expected to be a beautiful wedding cake. On the way to our wedding reception, my husband said, "Most wedding cakes are dry." I assured him that it would not be dry and I was not wrong. The caterer even commented that it was the moistest cake she had ever had. We had the Red Velvet with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting. Not only was the cake beautiful, it was delicious and was even good a week after the reception. They did a baby shower cake for my sister and it was beautiful! Not to mention absolutely delicious! Everyone at the party kept talking about how great it was and asking where it was from. I'm very grateful since I had to do most of this on the phone, I live out of Texas. They did such a fantastic job and the owner was very friendly. The cake looked gorgeous and tasted even better. Everyone will remember it for years to come! I even sent them a email thanking them because it turned out so great :D
On a whim my aunt stopped by there for a last minute birthday cake, And i am so glad she did. She purchased a chocolate moose filled cake with chocolate frosting. It is by far the most amazing cake i have ever tasted. And to think i used to just grab a quick HEB cake when i was headed to a party. Never again will i go anywhere but here for all my pastry needs.
My wife and I moved to Austin a few years back. We were concerned that we might not be able to find a good pastry store in this area since Texas is not known for pastries. I was also worried that I might have to compromise on pre-packaged Persian sweet since I did not think we could find anything fresh in the area. To our surprise, Dream Bakery has been fantastic! We had been shopping for wedding cakes since 2006 for our family events. We visited very well known places and tasted some fancy cakes...fancy is all I can say! Not much of taste and loaded with lots of sugar. Until, we came to Dream Bakery and met with Azar and her staff. Since then, we never left her store. I bought my son and daughter's wedding, engagement cakes from them. Not only they were beautiful...they were so fresh and delicious that every guest complemented our choice and wanted to know who made the cakes. Homemade, fresh and delicious! Price is great for all the custom decorations, too! The picture you see is my daughter's wedding cake...beautiful!
We contacted Mrs. Azar Owilia the owner of the place back in June 2008 to make our wedding cake for October 25th. When we went in we tasted two different types of mousse that we were considering for our cake. We decided to go with the lemon curd but based off HER recommendation we would do one strawberry for other guests and the bottom and top tier lemon for ourselves.
