I had a great experience with my first iron infusion. The whole process was efficient, smooth, and pain-free. I especially want to recognize the nurse who administered my infusion. I usually have a difficult time with needles and often need to be pricked three or four times during blood draws, so I was expecting the same. She found my vein on the first try, and I barely felt a thing. That alone made such a difference and immediately put me at ease. I had an appt with Dr Yu. I never met him. Nor was it explained to me why an east indian who was working there gave me a cortisone injection in my cmc joint instead. 3 weeks later and I'm still in pain. When I am referred to a certain doctor but am passed off to someone else in their office, I will in future refuse treatment till I see the doctor I was referred to. I will never go back.

Watch out for these “interventional pain clinics”. They do not treat moderate to severe pain. The only type of treatment they offer is injections / needles into your spine along with off label / unapproved steroid injections into the spine. Epidural steroid injections are not FDA approved/ Health Canada approved for this indication ! And if you need ACTUAL pain treatment aka an FDA/ Health Canada approved pain medication - you won’t get it. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Yu's Korean male staff who answers the phone. He talked to me like a child, speaking to me in Korean while raising his voice, and talking over me before I could finish any sentence. When I expressed concern in terms of scheduling and pain, he told me to go to another clinic. If he spoke to me in English, this would have been very unacceptable. I never consented to have him talk to me in Korean nor talked to me like a child. He was very impatient, hot-tempered, and intimidating.

Fantastic clinic to get your iron infusion. Dr. Yu called right after my GP's referral to walk through the process and organized the prescription. On the day of the infusion, the clinic was busy but the nurses providing the infusion were highly efficient, kind and minimized the discomfort. The nurses even played soothing music to provide a relaxing environment. Dr. Yu came and check in on me throughout the process.
