i have been taking my car to carl for a number of years and i have not had any issues with carl or his work. i am very particular on who works on my . carl treats both me and my car very well. i would recommend carl to anyone who is fussy and cares about his or her car. it is hard to make everyone happy these days but car goes out of his way to do so.
This is to respond to my other reviewer. This car came in for tire installation and a bad motor. When I went to install the tires the studs were not long enough. This is a custom install with 24 inch rims on a older Caprice. I ordered studs and had them on in a few days. I called the customer and told him he needed a new motor. I always take a deposit before starting motor jobs. He said that was fine but he didn't have his credit card with him and I should call him back on Friday. I have been bringing my car to Carl for the last 10 years. I have never once left the shop feeling taken advantage of or disappointed in the quality of work. When you drive your car away from Drake Auto you can feel confident that your car is repaired properly, that the wheels will stay on and that it isn't held together by duct tape. What can I say. Anyone can write anything they want on the web. First review says they left their car at my shop for weeks and I never even opened the hood. Hmm interesting. Something doesn't sound right here. I am an honest business owner trying to make a profit and be fair at the same time. In this economy I am practically giving service away. I'm sorry but it would be ridiculous to believe I would keep a car for weeks and not even open the hood and then charge $2000. I would at least open the hood ! Only kidding.
I just moved to V.A. and I'm a female. Apparently that means I get charged double for all auto services!! Not the Autoshop. Carl talked to me like a human not like I'm some ditz that doesn't know a brake pads from a fan belt. My fathers a mechanic so I've grown up around cars I'm not stupid i know how much things actually cost! They were wonderful and very helpful on how to fix my car! i would deff go back to them again!!
