I scheduled and paid for a consultation regarding surgery for a carotid body tumor (paraganglioma). Because this is a rare and complex procedure, I respectfully asked the doctor whether she had personally performed this specific surgery before. She said that in order to get an answer I would need to pay for the consultation, which I did. Even after paying, instead of giving a simple yes or no about her experience with this particular surgery, she repeatedly stated that she is board-certified and has many years of experience.... read more
