Being in healthcare, it is very hard to be a patient. As an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) and Professor of Nursing, any knowledge becomes fear because you 'know too much' about your condition. From the time I woke up in Critical Care after emergency surgery until my final release of care, I felt confident in Dr. Sangwan and his plan of care for me. His years of practice along with best practice directed my care that lead to the best outcomes. At each visit, either at the bedside or in his office, he was empathetic and profe... read more

Dr. Sangwan performed an inguinal hernia operation on me one week ago. In all the pre-op, he said this was 'minor' surgery and I would be able to swim in a week once the bandages were removed. I have not even been able to sleep in a bed for the past week because of acute pain - like a knife slicing through my abdominal muscles. Did he actually sever the muscles? I cannot lie on my back or lift my legs, one week later. Oh, and his office has still not called me, one week later, to schedule a time to remove the surgical dressi... read more

Our mother was hospitalized at Nassau Baptist on February 14,2024 with a fib and difficulty breathing. Over the next few days the doctors found that her gallbladder was the reason. Dr. Sangwan came in and it was decided that the gallbladder needed to be removed. That evening, our mom went into septic shock. We thought we were going to lose her. Dr. Sangwan came in and said that they needed to do a very high risk surgery. I asked how high risk? He was so caring and concerned for her. He said 5 percent chance of survival. What... read more

They will claim your insurance has been filed with after emergency surgery. They will then collect your “balance” from emergency surgery before they’ll remove your staples. Then you’ll find out they lied. Ambushes patients. Overall, the professionalism of this place is a joke. So when you have to file your claim yourself to get reimbursed- they try and charge 75.00 to sign a form for the claim. Overall, bad experience!! What if I didn’t have the 800.00 they claimed was due? They’d of left the staples for me to deal with.

I saw Dr. Sangwan with a small bowel obstruction and ended up having 3 surgeries within a few days of each other. First off, he is incredibly compassionate and very professional. He came by my room the entire time I was hospitalized. He answered all my calls, even in the middle of the night. Because of Covid restrictions, and my spouse not being able to be at the hospital, Dr Sangwan spoke to my husband numerous times on the phone to keep him informed and calm during this most trying time. Lastly, I feel blessed to have foun... read more

Dr Sangwan is a excellent surgeon, he explains everything from beginning to end. His bed side manners is compassionate and he sincerely care about your comfort and well being. The staff was always helpful and very polite and made me feel comfortable for every visit. Since I had the surgery my life has improved 100%. Anyone who is suffering with ulcerative colitis or any of digestive diseases I strongly recommend Dr Sangwan.

My husband went into Baptist Hospital ER inFernandina Beach with extreme abdominal pain. at 7pm. We were met by the ER doctor who ordered a CT Scan and the results were an intestine rupture and leakage into the abdomen cavity. She immediately called Dr. Sangwan the surgeon on call. He came to the hospital and rounded up his team to move quickly and help my husband. The surgery began just after midnight. Dr. Sangwan personally called me after surgery and assured me my husband would be okay. He had hoped to avoid a colostomy b... read more
