I was at the Outer Banks when a tooth problem interupted my family vacation. I searched on the internet for dentists in the area and called Dr. Downing's practice. His office gave me an appointment that morning. His staff, as well as Dr. Downing, were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. He was able to temporarily relieve my pain so I could continue to enjoy my vacation. Dr. Downing did an x-ray and gave it to me for my dentist to review. Our daughter, Susan, was vacationing at Rodanthe when she developed an excruciating tooth ache. She got Dr. Downing's phone number from the Internet and he gave her an immediate appointment. When she arrived, he gave her a professional exam, including X-ray and told her she made the right decision to see a dentist. She had a very bad abcess that could have escalated to a real threat to her health. He gave her prescriptions for pain killers and antibiotics.
