Dr. Dobkins did surgery on l4 &5 in 1982, bones were shattered falling 20 feet landing on spine. Dr. Dillep Tapadia assisted. removed facets to clean bone fragments cutting into spinal cord. Everything went as he explained and over 42 years later I am still pain free and retired as an automobile heavy line mechanic. I can't praise him enough!
Dr. Dobkin is like no other! He's graceful, smart and emphatic. He has given me many miracles!
The only reason he got one star is because I couldn’t leave a review without a star. He is an incompetent surgeon and ruined my life. I went in for a spinal fusion at L5 L4 and he started the surgery on the wrong level don’t go anywhere near this guy
He first operated on the wrong sight. He came late. I asked him to go over the surgery with me before he began and he said rudely, something to the effect of, ‘you don’t know what surgery you are having done?’ I’ve had knee and a hysterectomy before. Both surgeons went over my surgery beforehand and were not late at all.
Had multiple x-rays and scans to look at. I was told 2 maybe 3 vertebrae would be fused. He took it upon himself to do 8. I now have 2 rods and sixteen screws in my back, and am not able to bend or rotate. I cannot stand up straight and I lean to the right. It has effected my appearance and self confidence tremendously. Botched surgery. Second surgeon had to go in shortly thereafter and repair damage done by Dobkin, in addition to original work needed. I can not recommend Dobkin.
He performed surgery on C5-C6 & L5-S1 in 2001. I had virtually no pain from his manipulation of my back. It took about one year for my body to recover & nerves to regenerate & mend. That's uncomfortable & you need patience to allow your bode to heal. He is an outstanding surgeon!
This man....i dont even want to call him a "Dr." Let alone "specialiat". I have degenerative disc disease and had a cervical decompression fusion. My symptoms never did quite go away yet there was improvement. I went back to see him about 5 years later with images and he told me everything was normal. Try physical therapy. Now I have learned that I have some major problems. Part of the fusion failed so tge steel plate in my neck broke into 2 pieces and now facing another surgery.
If I could give him 0 stars, I would. I would not let this person operate on my worst enemy. My father was in ICU for days and has so many complications after surgery. Dobkin is egotistical on what looks to be wife #3, and needs to retire. He doesn’t explain anything has zero bedside manner to top it all off . Worst experience ever. He misrepresented what the surgery would entail, and we can never go back.
