I feel very fortunate to have Dr Shen as my surgeon. He performed thyroid surgery on me a year ago. He was extremely experienced and nice. Just talking to him made me feel a lot more comfortable with the surgery. His team at UCSF is world class. They took good care of me before, during, and post surgery. A year after the surgery, the scar on my neck is barely noticeable, I have recovered well, and the subsequent blood tests have shown good results.
Dr Shen is an excellent doctor and very conscientious. I highly recommend him
Dr Shen removed my thyroid in 2018. While I am sure there are other surgeons at UCSF who have learned from, and will take over from Dr Shen, his ability to reassure patients they are in the best hands comes from his years of experience and wonderful patient interaction.
