My hand surgery resulted in complications and hand therapy was unsuccessful. At my last visit I was told he would see me at my next hand therapy session but he wasn’t there and did not make any effort to follow up. The hand therapist said I could follow up if I wanted to. I felt abandoned in my care and no one cared that my surgery was not successful.
Pressured me into bilateral carpal tunnel surgery; never recovered properly. It has destroyed my livelihood. He gave up and pushed me off onto a neurologist. Save yourself!
I have seen Dr. Battista once and this is my first impression. He is the third hand specialist I’ve seen and seems much more knowledgeable than the other two. His first question was to tell him about my problem & he listened to me without interruption. Then he proceeded to review my imaging studies and discussed my previous treatment. Dr. Battista is an amazing surgeon. I wish I had listened to his recommendation for wrist implant surgery sooner.
Dr. Battista is very laid-back, which at times during my visits came across as apathetic and cavalier. That will work for him as long as he is 100% successful with a patient, and I have no reason to think he is not a bright doctor. But if he ever provides less than awesome work, he is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would not use him again.
Would highly recommend Dr. Battista. He is very knowledgeable and took care of my problem in my hand.
Chronic pain, left hand. He had to remove a tendon from my forearm and reconstruct my severely damaged hand, from arthritis, below the thumb area. It's been 20 months and I continue to be pain free. Dr. Battista is very meticulous, with an amazing Physical Therapist Group for after care.
