I put off hip surgery far too long. I read about Dr. Antonacci in the paper and the anterior approach. I went in at 6am and was home at noon the same day. The first days of at home therapy were not easy, but in the whole process I took 1 Tylenol for pain. Just 1. Highly recommend Dr. Antonacci.
Two weeks ago, I had anterior approach hip joint arthroplasty. Within a few minutes out of recovery and in my room, I was up and walking to the bathroom. The procedure produced very little pain, and within a few days I was walking well without a walker or cane. Bonus: Dr. Antonacci evened out the leg to match the other, which had been lengthened by another surgeon four years ago when I had that hip fixed. Dr. Antonacci calmed my fears. I went to him for a 2nd opinion and felt like crying after he had been in the room only 5 minutes. He was kind and professional. He talked to me not over me and listened to me. I need both hips replaced and will be scheduling with him soon.
Dr. Antonacci is the best! In need of a new hip or knee go see him. You won't be disappointed. There is no reason to leave Rockford Illinois when you can get this of care here.
Dr. Antonacci is the very best. He did both my hips an one knee so far. If my left knee ever gives up on me i will definately be looking to him for that replacement as well.
In January of 2016, Dr Antonacci performed my total hip replacement surgery. I was unsure which doctor to chose to perform this surgery and through networking, in a very short time, I learned Dr Antonacci came highly recommended by several people. I was looking for a doctor who had a lot of experience with the anterior approach to hip replacement. He answered all of my questions to my satisfaction and took every precaution to avoid complications. I am very happy with my outcome.
I was fast tracked for a total hip replacement so I didn't choose Dr. Antonacci, but I was very lucky to get him. He does an anterior approach that speeds recovery. I was on my feet the same day and home the next. I never spent a day in rehab and I'm 65. The nurses and social services followed me throughout the entire process and the rehab services got me back on my feet. I am so glad a friend recommended Dr. Antonacci. My hip had been bothering me for years, but it is great now. I had my surgery on a Tuesday afternoon and was discharged before breakfast on the next day.
I had a right hip replacement in April and scheduled the left one for October. The surgery required only an overnight in the hospital and the recovery was very fast. I'm really glad I had both hips replaced and can now get back to my old activities without hip pain.
