I was able to get an appointment for a routine check of a lesion in good time. I was seated in an exam room right at my appointment time, saw the nurse, and Dr. Young came in soon after. The lesion was examined and painlessly removed after she assured me she had good news, and the histological examination confirmed that. Very friendly and personable doctor and is typical of most dermatologists in that they run from room to room to efficiently treat patients; that's the nature of that specialty.
Find a different doctor in Rapid City. Poor bedside manners. I didn't hear about how awful she was until AFTER she removed a mole (she did a very poor job, one was severely pre-canerous and she never removed more; I had to have another doctor do that when I got a 2nd opinion). Her staff do not like her, one told me this after she made me cry telling me that I will have ance if I do not take this certain kind of drug I didn't feel comfortable taking. I also waited 45 min being the only one there.
The whole experience with this practice was a disappointment. Highly recommend to check out other dermatologists in the city. You will not get Dr Young's full attention. During my visits she was always in a rush. This practice is not transparent about their pricing structure (be prepared for surprises). Staff at the reception (at least the lady I dealt with) was rude.
She really seems to know what she is doing.
