In 1991, I was a carrier of Group B streptococcus and was pregnant with my 2nd son. At that time, women were not being routinely screened for Group B strep. Approximately 2 weeks prior to my due date, I developed bacterial meningitis and had to deliver my son in a most severe state. Thanks to Dr. Todd Braun and many other fine physicians at Abington, both my son and I survived. His expert follow-up ensured a speedy recover for us both with no neurological complications. We consider ourselves to be blessed!
