I have searched for a sports med DO with anywhere close to Dr. Thurman's expertise in many states (TN, IN, MA, WV, NH, RI, MO) and have not found one that comes close. This includes similar practitioners at both Johns Hopkins and Massachusetts General Hospital network. No one comes close to his skill, up to date knowledge, and expertise.
Finally found a Dr that took the time for a complete diagnosis for my pain problem.Thank you Dr Alvey for your expertise
Went to see Dr. Alvey this morning for a broken elbow. Imagine my surprise when he actually showed my photos of my X-rays of the elbow and spent a good half hour going through exercises and stretching that could be done for my elbow, which my previous doctor did not do at all. I would highly recommend this doctor for anyone with a break or injury. He also explained to me the issue of pain medication, which my previous doctor refused to prescribe because?? Great Doctor and great staff!!
Dr. Alvey is my go-to doctor for all my sports related injuries (which have unfortunately been many over the years). He does an outstanding job of getting me back onto the field/court every time! He takes the time to explain the injury and answers all my questions. I leave each visit feeling good about my knowledge of my injury and the next steps of recovery. I will always go back to him if the need arises.
