i have taken my dogs, and FFA projects there for years and they always work with me on the prices and truly care about the animals i take in.
Took my 4.5 year old bearded dragon into Schotman today for a checkup. She had a little infection growing under her mouth, rock solid and started getting bigger by the day. he was very gentle with her, took a sample determined what it was.. and wrote me a prescription.. walked out of there with a \$65 bill.. examine, syringes, little vial of baytril and all. Extremely caring animal facility. Honest and trustworthy. Very helpful in understanding all decisions necessary to properly care for your animals. Dr. Schotman has been our "family" doctor for nearly a decade and we will continue to recommend him to everyone possible. Thank you to the entire staff for their dedication and hard work.
Buyer beware. There is nothing particularly special about this animal hospital. It is a business and doctors are rewarded by the business based on performance. Performance equals \$ brought in by each of the doctors. This comes from the \$ that you will spend on your animal(s). Ask questions about what procedures and treatments are going to be performed on your pet and why. Check your itemized bills. Keep them honest!
I read about his care for the elepant Ned owned by Lance Ramos, AKA Lance Kollman and was appalled by his obvious lack of care. Anyone looking at the elephant could tell it was too thin. He said he couldnt look in Neds stomach to see what was wrong. He could have been more proactive in the care for this animal. Shame on Thomas Schotman for defending Mr. Kollman and especially shame shame on Kollman delibrately starving this animal, perhaps as a result of the loss of his aunt by another elephant.
Ive taken my dog to him since he was 6 weeks old...and i wouldnt take him to anyone else... really cares about his animals...
