Update 1 year later: Just wanted to update this review to say that, almost a year later, all is so very well. My husband's hernia repair surgery has become a distant memory. We rarely think about it, and when we do we always feel grateful to have had such a great outcome. No pain, no problems, no negative outcomes or functional limitations at all. Dr. Gillespie is the gold standard for how doctors should interact with their patients. Not only is he incredibly skilled as a surgeon, he listens and cares. I am 47 and had dealt with severe pain from hernias for almost 5 years and Dr. Gillespie restored not only my health but my faith in the medical system. Anyone having an issue with a hernia must schedule an appointment with Dr. Gillespie. It is a must. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be treated with the extremely best care available. Dr. Gillespie and his team were superb from day one of scheduling to my last follow up after surgery. He cares. Simply put. I'm thankful and blessed for a friend referring him to me. I interviewed 4 surgeons before meeting Dr Gillespie and while the others bragged about how many surgeries they can perform in a day, Doctor Gillespie explains exactly what he’s going to do and why his procedure takes longer. After the surgery, I got up and walked as if nothing happened. In fact, I didn’t require 1 pill after the procedure.
