As a medical professional myself I understand the majority of what Dr. Rakkar says although the typical patient would have trouble. I get what I need from Dr. Rakkar but I am a complex young patient. Patient to physician interaction is very clinical and is fine with me as a medical professional but Dr. Rakkar has difficulty with communicating back some vital details about patient care and blood work. If you need more clarity and patient to physician facing time I’d select someone else.
I had a couple of appointments with Dr. Rakkar. The first was great. He was courteous and addressed all my questions and concerns. However, my second appointment was not good. He spent all of 5 minutes with me. First he said he didn't have my pathology results, and so ran out to get them. That took a couple minutes. Then he spent the last couple minutes telling me I didn't have cancer but still needed surgery. I had a lot of questions, but couldn't ask them. We can't say enough good things about Dr. Bi and his PAC, Leslie. Kind, caring and thorough. My husband was in good hands.
If you want a fighting chance with cancer please see another oncologist. This Dr. doesn’t care about his patients. He doesn’t explain anything, doesn’t give any information so that a patient can make informed decisions. He expects you to know everything there is to know about your diagnosis. It’s disgusting that he is in a position that deals with people who have a terminal illness.
Met in person 2x. He reviewed my records in great detail and answered all my questions.
Dr. Rakkar is a kind, patient, caring professional whom I trusted with my life. I had a very rare kind of leukemia (APL), and he cured me with just the right blend of treatments. I have nothing but the highest praise for this doctor. He is brilliant and will do the deep research necessary to customize a patient’s treatment. He is encouraging and positive always.
Professional, thorough in his explanations, listens well. Staff is exceptional too.
I was seeing a different Oncologist that was not to my liking and would not respond to my phone calls. When I ended up in the hospital I met Dr. Rakkar and decided immediately to change Dr.s I have been seeing Dr. Rakkar ever since. I would definitely recommend him.
This doctor was able to help my grandmother who was in her late 80s be cancer free. Other doctors were reluctant to provide treatment to a patient her age. Doctors in our area were not prepared nor could they help my grandmother out, so we sought help in the Phoenix area. He and is staff are very helpful and professional, and the doctor is patient and kind. We could not have asked for a better doctor. He is a blessing to our family.
