Always considerate and pays attention to detail
I saw Steven Shapiro at gardens dermatology to address a few issues. Before seeing him, I communicated the reason I was there to the nurse. After about 10 minutes, they both came into the room and we started the visit. A few things were done but then the doctor started to grow impatient for some reason. Before addressing the issues I had spoken to the nurse about, he kept trying to leave. I stopped him once to look at something but then he quickly left after without addressing anything else. Diagnosed for precancerous tiny spot on my bald head. Prescribed MOHS surgery. Done on a Thursday. Did not see stitches and possible scar until looking in mirror at home Saturday to change dressing. What I saw shocked me. Several stitches and a possible long scar. As it turned out a deep scar 2 1/2 inches long is forever on the front of my head. People ask if I was hit on the head with a hatchet! Will drop him as a dermatologist.
Been treating me for many years for skin cancer and helped me though a botched up skin surgery by another physician in Fort Lauderdale. He is a stellar physician and very kind man and one of the best skin surgeons in South Florida. You will not do better.
Want to start with review about Gardens Dermatology. The worst please ever!!! Poor customer service! Front desk personal rude and unpleasant, busy talking there own business. Medical assistant Devon is unprofessional, make errors and hand up the phone on a patient! She was giving us wrong information and the result was that we cannot comply with a treatment. WOULD LIKE TO GET STARTED WITH THIS OFFICE BUT HAVE TRIED ALL DAY AND NO ONE ANBSWERS THE PHONE...JUST LEAVE A MESSAGE AND WAIT ALL DAY. WHAT IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS MORE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION? I WON'T GO TO AN OFFICE WHERE THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO SPEAK TO A PATIENT OR ANSWER THEIR PHONES.

The restrooms were very well-stocked at this provider's office. They always have toilet seat covers, paper towels and toilet paper and never run out. They explained all the risks and benefits of my treatment options. Everything was explained in detail, all my questions were answered, and I felt a lot better about choosing a treatment plan. I love that I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation.
