neck surgery was not effective at all. removed bone from pelvis and actually broke off a large chunk of pelvis. was not able to walk without a walker due to the surgery. no pain medication would be prescribed before or after surgery, was told to take tylenol.
Not sure how Dr Hess is as a surgeon - never got that far but his staff is totally incompetent. They did not file pre-approval for insurance on a timely manner or at all. Saw doctor 8 months prior to surgery and was told they would get insurance approval by then. After the expense of pre-surgery tests and less than 24 hours before surgery, told insurance would not approve. They do not work for you between you and your insurance company. Dr. Hess is an excellent surgeon. I have had to have several back surguries and have been given much relief from pain. When I first met him I thought he was a bit abrupt but after I got to know him he was very friendly and listened carefully. He is a bit hard to get into at first because his practice is very busy.
