I did the autonomic testing and tilt table test. I already had a tilt table test with my electrophysiologist that diagnosed me but was told UTSW and Dr. Vernino were prestigious and it was a great opportunity so I should keep the appointment. Dr. Vernino spent 5 minutes with me. Dr Vernino is a wonderful doctor! He’s clearly an expert in his field: knowledgeable, caring, and a great listener. He listens to understand how he can help improve the quality of life for my mother who is dealing with a complex autonomic condition. Grateful we found him.
After getting a "possible MSA" from a general neurologist and "probable MSA" from a MDS, I finally got a call back on my two referrals to Dr. Vernino. I was told that he reviewed the notes and said he can't help me at his MSA clinic and I should go somewhere else. It's so refreshing when a doctor can tell you without seeing you that they can't help because too many doctors are out there seeing and helping patients.
